The Purpose of This Website
On July 29, 2024, the Alexander Mountain Fire started, approximately 3 miles east of our Cedar Park/Storm Mountain Community. The AMF was only contained two weeks later, after destroying around 50 of our homes, cabins, and structures, and scorching nearly 10,000 acres of our public and private land.
The Cedar Park/Storm Mountain Recovery Group was formed by our community to help landowners and homeowners with the Recovery process. As part of that effort, we began this website, stormmountain.info. We discovered an ongoing need for a community hub for common information.
Going forward, StormMountain.info’s Mission will be:

To be The Gateway for those inside and outside our community to information and contacts relevant to what we do to build a better life for those who call Cedar Park/Storm Mountain home. We want them to know who we are, where we’ve been, what we’re doing, and where we’re going.

“One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals. When we pool our strength and share the work and responsibility, we can welcome many people, even those in deep distress, and perhaps help them find self-confidence and inner healing.”
~Jean Vanier
